Mallampati classification: a visual score used by doctors to predict how hard it will be to place a breathing tube in a patient or to estimate the risk of obstructive sleep apnea. It grades throat visibility from Class 1 (easy) to Class 4 (difficult) while the patient sits with an open mouth and sticks out their tongue. -
